Reading over the past blog entries here, I think I was right when I stated that the second year would be entertaining.
In terms of my course, the first semester was fantastic. Interactive writing with a guy from the Mustard Corporation, game design mechanics with a game from Ubisoft, we created a whole 'sound in games' wiki into a 'Sonic sounds in games' project instead. Any excuse, huh?
And I actually did some amazing things. I set up the game society at Northumbria, pushed...

So, how was your summer?
Mine was mostly wasted, sad to say. I spent the first month playing games, which wasn't so much of a waste if you actually play other games from time to time. By the end of it I had played through and completed some games I wouldn't normally, and I bought a bunch of PC games to widen my PC gaming horizons, so to speak, but it always feels like there are just too many games these days.
In the old 16/32 bit days, I could be an expert of every area...

I'm afraid my Oblivion addiction has totally taken over, I'm sorry everyone!
I've always wanted the PC version cos of the mods. After getting it on Steam, I've probably spent more time adding and playing with mods than I have in the actual game. Most of the mods I have added are there to enhance the realism of the game. I'm pretty sad and like to actually role play when I play Oblivion, so my character has a back story, motives, ambitions, and when I loot dungeons, take on quests,...

This is serious blog!

...
Well, no, not really.
I can be very serious and boring at times. I like to think about and analyse all those serious issues that no one else cares about, like life, death, the bits in between, is reality real, does society have a point, what is potassium really good for, is the cake really a lie?
So I may post some of those thoughts in here
