Hi Guys,

Hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Year. It’s the new semester, so what does that mean? Game Society meetings! And spammy emails, of course.

For this semester, we’ve changed the format a little. Instead of one two-hour meeting within the Training Room, we now have the Training Room for three hours, and also Red’s every Monday from 6pm-10pm, starting from January the 25th.

Society Meeting
Every Friday, 3pm-6pm
Students Union Training Room

The training room is located on the first floor of the Students Union. Go up the stairs, turn right, go through the doors and follow the hallway to the end, turn right again, and we’re in a room on the right. You can ask at the welcome desk for directions. They’ll be a sign on the door too, if I remember.

Meeting & Tournament Schedule

We don’t have a schedule yet as we’ve been defaulting to Music Night (You can’t go wrong with Rock Band!), but you can suggest games you want at either on the forum Here.

For the tournaments, you can just come along on the night and we’ll sort you in to a bracket. However, we will also be having proper competitions with the chance to win gaming gift vouchers. More coming soon!

Society Committee Meeting

Next week, we will be having our first Society Committee Meeting of the year. This will be a chance to talk about issues involving the society, discuss what you liked about last semester, and what events and gaming sessions you want this semester.

Society meeting as normal at 3pm!

Try and get there just before 2pm so we can start on time and get finished before the normal gaming session at 3pm. I hope all paid members will try and come along.

Agenda:

1. Feedback for events from Semester 1: Our progress so far.
2. Current events for Semester 2: Tournament every Monday in Red's and gaming session in the SU Training Room.
3. Future events & plans: YOUR IDEAS!
4. Ideas for improvements.
5. Ideas for attracting new members.
6. Any other business.

What YOU Need to Bring:

1. Ideas for tournaments/gaming sessions!
2. Any information on gaming events in the UK you want the society to organise or pay towards.
3. Ideas for gaming equipment the society could pay for.
4. Cookies.

Join the Society

Thanks to everyone that joined the society last year and took part in some of the cool events we had. This year we plan to be bigger, better and ten times more awesome, as you can already see!
If you want to take part, and also support us so we can get society grant money for events and trips, then please join our society! Here is how:

1. Head into the Students Union (Located on the City Campus).
2. Go to the Welcome Desk and ask to join the Computer and Video Games Society.
3. Hand over £3 and you’re done!

You can then join us online on the CreativeGamers.co.uk forum.
